Try this simple and quick recipe for a basic patty melt any rye bread would do as long as its jewish like i did i use two slices of cheese but you can use one for each melt patty

Ingredient – 1 pound ground beef – ½ teaspoon salt – ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper – 2 tablespoons butter – 1 large onion sliced – 6 teaspoons mayonnaise – 6 slices rye bread – 6 slices sharp cheddar cheese

Steps

Circled dot 1 add salt and pepper to the ground meat and divide into three equalsized balls try to form each ball as closely as you can to the breads shape using your thumb make a depression in the center of each patty to help keep them flat while cooking

Circled dot 2 in a skillet over medium heat melt the butter add onion cook and stir for 5 to 7 minutes or until tender and transparent spoon onions into a basin and reserve put the beef patties in the same skillet and cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until done fill in some text
